Xfx 6200 overclocking gone mad !?

hi guys

just for fun i have bought a relatively inexpensive xfx geforce 6200(agp) and along with my old athlon xp 2200+ i applied coolbits to the nvidia control panel and pressed "detect optimal frequencies"

the xfx geforce 6200 has a 350mhz core clock speed and a 532mhz memory clock speed,so after the coolbits test cycle i nearly passed out when the "optimal frequencies" returned at 701mhz core clock and 1.01ghz memory clock

straightaway i applied " no overclocking " and everythings fine, however my question is "is the geforce 6200 capable of these speeds,i mean the 1.01ghz memory clock is faster than my 7600gt and so is the 701mhz core clock

the only explanation i can phathom is that xfx have used

6600 core and underclocked it,maybe they run out of the 6200 cores, well any advice would be appreciated

and would you use the "optimal frequencies" or stick with the default speeds(350mhz/532mhz)

cheers guys !

  1. There is no way in h**l a 6200 can run at those clocks.

You would need to v-mod it to the extreme and use peltiers with a beefy wc'ing loop too cool that card at those clocks, stick with factory clocks.
