so i had them both for about a month... i hate sirius so much and i love xm... 1 off i got a awesome xm radio for 40 dollars with 3 months free and free to turn on.. and they offer invoice billing for every month witch sirius does not.. i also go 2 sirius radios for 1 penny on there website.. sirius did not give me a free trail.. i had to pay a total of 60 dollars to have the radions turned on and to pay for the month. well i checked all the stations out on sirius first. then i checked out xm and xm blows sirius away and i get better service with xm.. the xm sat i can keep inside my house and get 3 bars the sirius i have to put outside and only get 2 bars.. so i wanted to keep xm and cancel sirius so i called sirius and she was offering me all kinds of stupid stuff like 3 months free or a 24 dollar home kit and im like no cancel so they told me the radios will be **** off on the 6th of april. and i asked to get a refund for the 60 dollars and she gos sorry we cant.. WTF I LOVE YOU XM

  1. Did you have a question?

Is this Yahoo! Answers or Yahoo! Listen to Rants?

  2. I love Xm.

They have nearly twice as many subscribers.

The only thing that sirius has that I'm aware of that xm doesn't is howard stern, and personally I got my fill of him when he was on terrestrial.

sirius made a bad deal,in my opinion, offering so much money for stern, with little in return from subscriptions.

As for the promotions,XM seems to have great customer service, and more of a "try it you'll like it attitude"where sirius has a "get all you can then s***w em plan.

I heard sirius has jim bruer, whom I enjoy, but the XM comedy and original programming I enjoy is very satisfying.

I don't want to start a radio war,but I haven't ever met anyone who was completely satisfied with sirius. In five years I have never had a problem serious enough to call customer service.

As for the technological differences,I cant confirm or deny. The only problem Ive had is trying to listen to my battery operated"boombox" at low volume,it does distort, but not with AC.

All in all I love XM too.

XM 202 O and A ,Ron and Fez ,catch the VIRUS

  3. xm blows.

Sirius blows it away and if they both merge they will be droping a lot of the channels becasue 99% of them are doubles anyway.  Since you used the service why sould you get a refund. I have eaten 75.00 steaks at resturants that tasted like leather, still had to pay for it when I was done.

  4. wow i love sirius and a friend has xm and I just don't like it I look forward to sirius taking over

  5. Wow, you really need to take the time to retype this circus mess you have here.  Have you heard of the <Shift> key by chance?  You know I don't see very many periods at the end of the sentences with the proper spacing at the end.

So let me get this straight.  You got a XM receiver for 40 dollars and 3 months free plus free activation.  Okay, that's worth $39.  You paid, including taxes about $44.  You got two Sirius radios for 1¢, but you paid $60 for three months.  To me, it looks like you got two great deals.  But you probably couldn't get a refund because you got in on a promotion which required you to purchase a certain amount of months of programming, like the satellite television deals do.

Depending on your preferences, XM might have been better for you.  Sirius was better for me.  It's really a personal preference.  It's a good thing that you tried both of them to see and could afford to.

So what's the question?  I liked Sirius just because of the sound quality.  I'm not a fan of MPEG-based codecs, which XM uses.  I've listened to XM using some really horrible speakers, and I could hear coding errors in the stream with the ctAACplus grunge.  Yuck.  I also like the programming, but as I mentioned before, it is a matter of personal preference.
