Yahoo! Chess Alternative? Better Chess Site?

Question

I have been playing on Yahoo! Chess for a while now and I managed to get my rating up to 1250. I have heard from people that there are other chess sites that have a better community and more enjoyable than Yahoo! Chess.

Can anybody name a few chess sites that would suit me? Feel free to tell me what site you play on.

Thousands of really good players of rating about 1000 to 2000. Its free too. Really good site

I play on icc. There you can watch GM's play. But you have to pay to use icc.

I use freechess but never interact with anyone off the board, so I can't say.
