Yamana warrant YRI.WT.A

I own this warrant ( ticker symbol YRI.WT.A ) in my RRSP. When I bought it initially I thought it was just like any stock. No I realize it has an expiry date of Nov 20 / 2008 and an exercise price of $ 2.50. I am wondering what would happen if I do nothing prior to Nov 20 / 2008

Thanks

  1. Normally if you do not exercise the warrants or sell them in the secondary market by the expiration date you would effectively loose your investment. From where YRI is trading at currently, your warrant seems to be in the money. Ideally, in that case if you believe in the long term fundamentals for the company you would exercise the warrants. Your other option to lock the profits would be to sell the warrants prior to the expiration date.
