I have a 3 year old who absolutly loves this show. She will stop everything she is doing and be glued to the tv. I think the show is so weird! Especially the guy dressed in orange with the weird hat. Anybody have kids who watch this show and love it? Is there anything educational about it? I just see a lot of random singing and dancing around. Just super weird to me.

  1. In some ways Yo Gabba Gabba makes me think of Teletubbies. Teletubbies was a show I thought was stupid, but my son was enthralled with it. Then I realized that he was learning from it. He started pointing to things and saying "what's that?" which they did alot. Then his bedtime hug he would say "big hug" and squeeze me tight - he still says that and he is 4. However, he has gotten past the Teletubbie stage. He sometimes likes to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, and my 1 year old will be captivated sometimes too. I recall reading something from the creators of Teletubbies, and how kids see things differently - they love silliness, and repetitiveness. And Yo Gabba Gabba does try to be educational - they have had songs about sharing, and being nice to others, and eating healthy food. I admit - it's weird, but young children can seem to relate to it.  I don't know why - but with both my kids, the baby sun that smiles and laughs on Teletubbies made my kids smile and laugh too. We may not get it, but I guess were not supposed to.

  2. It's only tolerable when compared to the Wiggles or Lazytown, which are god awful.

I think it's bizarre, but sadly I caught myself singing, "There's a party in my tummy! So yummy! So yummy!"

  3. My 19 month old daughter loves it. I think its probably the most bizarre kids' show I've ever seen. Its almost as if the writers of this show were all on acid trips or something!

  4. Lol, I don't allow my 20 month old to watch it anymore, she watched it once and was bouncing all over the place screaming wiggle wiggle , ho stol!. She's normally very active in playing, but not jumping and screaming like that. So we change the channel and watch more educational things instead of things that encourage her to act like an epileptic having a seizure, lol. But that's just our family rule. She's not allowed to play with or have Bratz either :D (current family fued in my household, lol)

    Good luck!

  5. annoying, weird, pointless...shall i go on!

  6. he-e-e-e-e-y, ki-i-i-i-i-i-ds, it biz's beat of the day!  i like some of it. dunno about educational, but definitely interesting at times...

  7. Oh my Gosh! people, yeah the show might be a little bizarre but to me it is educational. My daughter loves it, she's learn a lot of words with it. I don't see anything wrong with little kids watching the show. Now if you let them watch Sponge Bob that's a diff story. I think that show is dumb and encourage kids to act stupid and hit and things like that.

  8. OMG I can't stand that show at all!!! Drives me up the wall but my daughter loves it! Why is that the stupidest shows are the ones that attract the kids??

  9. Yeah,I have two kids,a 3 year old and a 1 year old and I don't know if that show is educational or not? I saw one episode that tried to teach kids about different foods and how its fun to eat,but it does seem very strange,I agree, lol! My kids like the show too, don't worry. At least its not like that boo-bah show or whatever its called, that one seems to hypnitize my kids...that's the one I wouldn't watch!

  10. I think it is weird, but it is also educational. It teaches trying new things, waiting your turn, sharing, no biting etc...in the some of the songs. I catch my 3yr old singing the songs later on and he does seem to learn from it, so I guess it can't be all bad.
