What rules/changes would you make or not make?

I would not install replay and I would change the schedule to make more interleauge games other than that I leave everything alone.

  1. .instant replays only for borderline homeruns

.have a miminal amount of salary every team has to meet

.best record determines world series advantage

.every team plays each other at least once a year

    .erase all of Bonds records

.expel from the league if used any kind of performance enhancing drugs

.draft picks can only get a certain amount of money based on where they were drafted

  2. I'm tired of the rule that if a player foul tips it and the catcher catches it it's not an out.

Get rid of maple bats. Get something stiffer.

  3. I would just add more interleague games and change the playoff format so there could be 8 teams from each league

  4. THe one thing i would do most is when a guy gets hit by a pitch, advance all baserunners.  Instead of treating it like a walk, advance all baserunners 90 feet no matter what.  Lets say theres a runner at 2nd and 3rd, then the batter gets hit.  Then 1 run comes home to score and the guy from 2nd goes to rhird.

I beleive in this because, thers a big difference between a hit by pitch and a walk and i dont think we should be treating them the same.  When a guy is hit, theres  agood chance that if there was no body in the way of the ball, the pitch would go to the screen anyways and the runners would be advancing anyways.

  5. personally i wouldnt change any rules

but wut i would do is....

pete rose and shoeless joe would b in the hall of fame and any of barry bonds stats would b out

and i would b frequntly testing for steriods or any hgh

  6. 1. Make a decision on the DH rule. I personally despise having a DH, but what bothers me more is the fact that the 2 leagues have different rules.

    2. Eliminate interleague play. For every series that is halfway exciting (Cubs-White Sox, Yankees-Mets, etc.) you get 4 or 5 that are terrible - do we really need to see the Pirates play the Royals or the Indians play the Padres?

    3. Get rid of the home field advantage for the World Series being decided by the All Star game. The game is meant to be an exhibition for the enjoyment of the fans, not a determining factor in something that important. And if an All Star game ends in a tie, but the fans have seen the players they want to, and gotten a few extra innings as a bonus, why should that be a problem? Go back to simply alternating the home field advantage each year.

    4. Only take single season bids for broadcasting rights. This would allow more flexibility on a year to year basis. It would also save the viewers from having to listen to Joe Buck and Tim McCarver for years on end.

    5. Institute a better program for evaluation of umpires. rather then having the minor leagues hire their own, I would attempt to get umpires in all of the affiliated minor leagues to be considered employees of MLB. Have a 3 member committee who would periodically evaluate every umpire in the majors, and if there are some that are not quite up to the task of being in the big leagues, send them down to AAA for a while. Eventually you would end up with the level of umpiring being much better.

    6. Another umpire thing - get the umpires to call the strike zone as it is written in the rule book. And if they refuse, get some umpires that will call it as defined. As an umpire I realize that it is a judgment call, and nobody is perfect, but the umpires each seem to have their own strike zone. To me there is no room for "interpretation". A pitch that does not cross the plate should never be called a strike. Likewise, they need to start giving the high strike back to the pitchers.

    7. Get rid of all the protective gear the hitters wear. Sorry, but I see no need for a batter to come to the plate with his entire front side covered. Or better yet, allow players to wear it, but allow the pitcher to hit them in the shinguards or elbow pads and have it be called a strike. Save a lot of time , too - nothing frustrates me quite like watching a player have to take 3 or 4 protective pieces off after an intentional walk.

    8. In keeping with the Selig philosophy of baseball management, I need to have an incredibly stupid rule, so here it goes. I would adopt a uniform code similar to the NFL. Maybe not as extreme, but with some guidelines. Get rid of the long pants and the extremely baggy look. It drives me nuts to see a ballplayer at the highest level making millions of dollars looking like he's wearing his big brothers pajamas. I 've got no problem with players wanting to "express themselves", but a uniform should be, for lack of a better word, uniform. meaning they should all appear the same.

  7. increase every teams payroll to whatever they ask for, and take tax money and use it for that, 10 umps used during a game, a coach has a challenge flag like in football except he can use it whenever he wants, and when he uses it he can argue all he wants and never be ejected, and if the ump doesnt make the call go his way, the ump is suspended for 50 games and has to pay a 300$ fine. oh ya and also if the pitcher throws a pitch 100 mph or higher there team gets 5 runs.

  8. The All Star game would be for deserving players, not popular players.  Treat stats like we do in fantasy leagues, the best players statistically ranks higher than other players.  That player ranks higher than "popular" players, that player is an all star.  No fan voting.  If your team is on a homestand before the all star game, fans stuff the ballots anyways, so this would be my 1st change.

Get rid of these players contracts that states they will only play for certain teams.  What a bunch of c**p that is, these overpaid, spoiled little babies need to learn how to appreciate how much they get paid, no matter what team they play for

    Pay players based on performance.

Save money by using the same baseball the entire game.  Don't toss 3rd out balls into the stands, foul balls come back to the pitcher.  But any ball hit into the stands stay with the fans.

All beer in all parks $1.00 dollar

Put a salary cap on every team.  (If the player's pay per performance item doesn't work out).  The rich getting richer is starting to get old.  One player earning more than an entire team is ridiculous.

No player should earn more than the US President, period.  The President has the hardest job on the planet.  A ball player doesn't even work a full year getting more in 3 hours than the president does all year is BS.

  9. I would change it so the all-star game is an exhibition game, therefore it does not have WS advantage tied to it. Just do whichever league does better in IL play.

I would install replay for these borderline HR calls personally...but nothing else.

  10. Only allow one year contracts for veteren players (say 5 year minimum experience).  Charlie Finley proposed this in the early seventies and it makes sense.  No more signing players like Carl Pavano and Mike Hampton to huge multi year contracts only to have them get hurt.  After a year they're a free agent again.  You can re-sign them if you want or let them go.  So, every year everybody is a free agent.

  11. More steroid checks, the balk thing needs to be better, u can argue balls and strikes, and if the ump follows the manager after he throws out the manager, the ump gets a suspension, fan can interfere (not leaving the statnds) (its part of the fun)

DH in NL or no DH in AL (keep it even)!!!!!!! RAWR it wares on the pitchers and other players its simply unfair and u wonder y red sox keep winning the WS (i like bosox, but it aint fair) g2g CC up to bat...HAHAHHA..GONE!!!....JK JK

  12. I would throw out all records before color barrier. make the game less racial..

  13. reinstate Pete Rose, who's suffered enough, yank Bud Selig out of the Hall Of Fame for being the owner's puppet all these years, and tell Jerry Reinsdorph to quit having g*y orgies in his office with GM Kenny Williams

  14. NO INTERLEAGUE AT ALL, NO ALL STAR GAME WINNER DECIDES HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE AND INSTANT REPLAY ON HOMERUN CALLS AND IN THE WORLD SERIES.

  15. Return to day games. Eliminate approx 6 expansion teams to make teams more competitive across the board. Eliminate the DH........

Oops, I forgot, it's all about money these days.

  16. -instant replay

    -better umpires

    -more interleague

-take voting out of all star selection so it would be fair

-not count world series home field advantage for all star game, instead it should go to the team with the better regular season record

  17. - Get rid of DH in AL.

    - Change how you get home field advantage in the world series.  The team with the best record will get it.

    - Remove drop third strike rule.

    - Add teams in Hawaii and Alaska.  Possibly an International team.

    Good Luck!
