Its a foxglove - digitalis. The drug digoxin (used to slow down and regulate heartbeats) is generated from this plant.

Your plant is Digitalis Purpurea, or the common Foxglove. It is readily available from most seed houses. There are superior hybrid mixtures which are well worth looking for and extra expenditure, such as "Excelsior".

There are several kinds of fox glove  for example; 'Grecian Foxglove' is considered invasive and if you go to pick it you should wear rubber gloves because it contains a heart stimulant "DIGITALIS"   and GRECIAN FOXGLOVE MAY BE
