Young children & masterbation?

Is it normal for children (around the age of 3 & 4) to m********e? I read that it is normal for 2 year olds when they are starting to explore & learn about their bodies. But what about preschool age children that continue to do it b/c they say "it feels good'? Should I be concerned? Or is it a phase that will just be out-grown sooner or later?

Lol. They don't grow out of it. Did you?!! "Because it feels good" sounds like a good reason to me :) Just teach them the necessary things about privacy, then stop thinking about it. :)

I think it's normal but as parents we have to teach them what is appropriate to do in public and what is not.  We have to teach them that touching ourselves is only something done in private and also that no one else is allowed to touch that area.

Yeah it is normal for them to do that.  But they are old enough to understand privacy, and need to be told it is something they can only do if they are alone in their room  :)
