Youtube to mp3 problem?

Question

I tried converting youtube videos into mp3 using several conversion sites and each time there were problems. The conversion was slower than usual, and the music ended up being twice as long (in minutes), or sometimes part of the music was cut off. For example, a song 5:11 long becomes 5:00, or it might be converted to 10:22. What's the reason to this problem? Is there a way to fix it? It's not a copyrighted video, it's a video of my friend singing... she lost the file, but she still has it up on youtube.
