For a twenty year old lad who was seen bashing the Australians in the 2000 Knock Out Trophy in Nairobi, Yuvraj Singh has definitely come a long way. His clicking wrists, flashy smile and numerous match winning performances have made him one of the most formidable
ODI players of all time. What Yuvraj has always had, is tenacity, passion, vigor and the desire to succeed. He simply cannot say ‘no’ even if it is a lost cause, and will prove it with his innate abilities.
Much to the horror of many, when Mother Nature had its own way, Yuvraj’s tenacity came under question. Indian fans were in grief after the news of him being riddled with germ cell cancer surfaced. It seemed as if his achievements meant little in comparison
to his life, which is precisely how it should be. Yet by undergoing Chemotherapy at Boston, Yuvraj defied all odds, underwent a warm reception, and is now in contention to play for India once again.
It seems that destiny would have it no other way as Yuvraj’s remarkable comeback has been lauded and praised by many of his dear followers. For most astute observers who understand the brazen realities attached with a menace such as germ cell cancer, this
was indeed an achievement that deserved a wealth of praise. Yuvraj is probably the first cricketer to fight death and come back on the field, which is something that he himself could hardly believe. Yet what works, as was in this case, was relentlessness,
the craze to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, as his mother and a billion fans continued to pray for him.
His recovery has been understandably well received. What makes Yuvraj a modern delight however is his never say ‘die’ attitude which has embraced the cricket pitch on many occasions. His six sixes off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 at Kingsmead are just a glimpse of what
seemed impossible, to materialize in front of one’s own eyes. No one could believe that this feat was achieved, as Kingsmead erupted with Indian fans flying the tricolor in every corner. Yet belief is all what Yuvraj has had and for anyone who has watched
him play for his country over the years, would not deny that he has guided his side to breathtaking victories, when all seemed lost.
It is a noted fact that in a country obsessed with Tendulkar, Yuvraj’s achievements can easily be overlooked. Yet in times when crisis has struck India, he has been a force to be reckoned with. One can think of one of the finals of the VB series of 2003,
where a majestic 139 helped India gnaw their way out of trouble against the mighty Australians. Then came the sixes galore in the T20 world cup and of late, no one would forget his contribution with both bat and ball which helped India cross the line in the
World Cup of 2011 and book a place in the finals. He is indispensable for the team and for a lad who has given Indian cricket so much, it is difficult to claim that he is meek and not a man for the big occasion.
Yuvi is back on the fringes again and is bound to give India plenty to smile about if he makes the final 11 for the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 series and beyond. Even if he doesn’t, he will go down as a cricketer who never says die, which has delighted a billion
fans who consider cricket to be their religion.
