Zebra Finch HELP!?

Okay. I have four Zebra Finches. two of them just fledged. The other two are the parents. What gender are they?

one is grey (the mother's white, the fathers gray) and the other one is white. The Gray one is a few hours older. The father-albert- feeds the white one more than the gray one. The white one grooms itself alot and the gray one just acts normal. The white one also has some greenish things jutting out of its neck. What are those?

Also what kind of plants outside are Edible for Zebra Finches?

When the Albert's old Daughter escaped outside, Albert and the daughter-Mazy- ate oak leaves..I'm pretty sure.

Well if you can help, please do. Thanx Soooooo much.

  1. Most male zebra finches have orange cheeks, unless there a certain type of coloring. They also have patterns on there bodies. But you probly will have to wait with the babies because they havent molted yet.

  2. Give them a couple of more weeks until they start molting into their adult feathers .  Then you will be able to better tell if they are male or females.  Right now you will not be able to tell.  Sorry!

The greenish thing.  Could you be seeing the seeds in their crops? Look at the seeds you are feeding the parents and see if some of them are green.

  3. Oops, I just added you to my contacts.

Will you consider choosing me anyway?

You can't tell the gender of the bird until it is older. And that green stuff sticking out of the neck is probably some lettuce.

    Your welcome for the help.
