  1. you might have over filled it or didn't close the hatch all the way

watch this video and make sure that you did it right

  2. Yea sounds overfilled. Put it in your front pocket for awhile. In my experience it will empty after awhile. YEEEOOOW !!!

  3. Sounds like its either leaking or your filled it too full.

  4. i think you may have over filled it, try keeping it open for a few minutes, close it for about ten and after that try again. If you get no joy with that take it back and get a replacement

  5. sounds like you overfilled it.

  6. Is the cotton inerds intact check by looking at the base of the actual unit that lights if not that your prob., this is necessary to absorb the Ronsinol or lighter fluid if it is and it is snuggly packed.... okay.  Zippos are guarenteed for life....send it back to the company, they'll send a brand new one within days, I bought a Zippo in 1982 and am still using it, so they last a long time, any defect is odd

  7. You over filled it. Just take out the thick felt pad at the bottom of the lighter and give the cotton a four or five second spray with the fluid. Make sure you don't get fluid outside the lighter. If you do, wipe it off or just wait a few seconds before lighting it.

  8. You over-filled it.  It'll be fine when a bit of the fuel is used up or evaporates.
