Zoo feedings at holidays?

I know this is a weird question but i am watching madagasgar and Marty was onabout how he would be in the zoo at xmas, halloween etc, and it just got me thinking on christmas day, zoos are shut right? so do the animals get fed and who by? lol i know its really random I just wondered do people have to go into work? xx

Odds are someone gets paid a little extra for going in to feed and check on all the animals. That's how it works at Petsmart.

People have to feed the animals or they will die!!!

no, actually, there are MANY who does not have an office work. Some stay with kids and family working from home like me.

I want to become a zoo keeper, and the first thing your told is that;

a, you wont earn alot of money

b, there's no day that you get off your rotatoer..and you won't be paid extra for working extra hours, and bank holidays, christmasect.

It has to be done :) So i dont mind and it hasnt put me off. All part of being an animal lover (oh and my moms a doctor, and shes worked every xmas since i was 11.)

Zoos are mostly run by people that love animals and shouldnt they care about the animals especially on Jesus' birthday. i cnnot say that on all zoos but i am sure someone takes care of them because they have a great passion for animals and sort of become your family after a while!
