Zoologist lab work?

Question

What exactly do you do when in a lab with animals? Examine DNA...? Boring stuff? I'm hoping to get outdoors and stuff but Id just like to know what the lab work consists of doing.

outdoor work is misleading, you collect data, then spend a few days-weeks in a room filing and compiling data

lab work is more looking at the dead, maybe live depending on the experiment/research

Outdoors you examine animal behaviour and track them.

Indoors you will probably conduct harmless experiments on the living and dissect the dead.
