Zuiko lenses.........?

is the zuiko 70-300mm (140-600mm) any good for taking pictures of animals i.e deer, foxes,hares, buzzards(bird) ,wild boar

  1. There are some third party makers also you could think of:

    Sigma AF 135-400mm F4,5-5,6 DG APO - little bit longer, but the same c**p aperture.

    And if money is not an issue, then there are always:

    Zuiko Digital ED 90-250mm F2,8 (very nice aperture, but expensive)

    or even

    Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F2,8 (fixed lens is always better than zoom, but it is extremely expensive already...

    And you can use tele converter with fast lenses (smaller aperture numbers).


  2. I think it's good enough for such works, as long as there is enough light.

  3. It should be an excellent choice. You might want to practice using manual focus though. One review I read indicated that the lens occasionally "hunts" for focus. A monopod might also be useful when you can't use a tripod.
