my best friend wants to and im trying to convince her

Sounds like your not a very good friend. Nope, not in the least. It is okay for ANYONE regardless of size to get any tattoo they want, as tattoos are a personal thing that should be meaningful to the wearer. As a FRIEND you should tell her you support any decision she makes. Unless of course you are just one of "those" people.
