Question:

"Informercial" drivers. . .?

A guy we play with sometimes has one of those "long-drive-bought-it-off-the-internet-s... drivers in his bag. We tell him all the time he's bogus for not using a legitimate driver. What do you say to this tool who thinks this is okay? Thanks. . .

  1. Depends if the club is conforming to USGA rules.  If it does, then there's not much you can do to get him to change his driver.

And if you're not playing for money or in tournament against him, does it matter what club he uses?

  2. if that Driver works for him its doesnt matter if its not callaway, titleist or a good brand of club as long as you feel comfortable with it and it works for you that should fine. You dont need top brand clubs or expensive clubs it depends on how you play the game. If a cheap or informercial driver helps your game stick with it if not find one that you're comfortable with expensive or not. Like Tiger Woods said "if it works for you stick with it."

  3. Check out the link I included.  If his driver is on this list, that would validate your point.

  4. Whatever works for him. He bought a club that is less engineered, made of cheaper materials and paid more for it with less warranty. But if they work for him, he just paid too much for it, that's all.
