"Money" Mayweather arrested
Just when it appeared boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. couldn’t sink any lower with the media, TMZ reports that he has been arrested in Las Vegas following a domestic violence claim made by his girlfriend.  He was held on $3,000 bail.
Mayweather’s girlfriend, Josie Harris, called the police around 5 AM today from her home in Las Vegas, and when they arrived she explained the boxer that calls himself “Money” had abused her and threatened to kill her.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Mayweather was arrested for grand larcency in association with the domestic incident.  Allegedly Mayweather stole possessions from Harris’s house.  While he has been arrested for larceny, he has not formally been arrested for domestic violence at this time.
Police reported indicated that Mayweather was booked into the Clark County Detention Center at about 10:45 a.m.  According to Harris, “Money” entered her home at about 2 a.m. and proceeded to search through her personal belongings.
Confronted by Harris, Mayweather accused her of seeing another man.  Harris stated that Mayweather then threatened her, saying he would “have me and my guy friend taken care of.”  A phone call made to the police occurred at roughly 3 AM.
Hours later Mayweather returned to Harris’s home, according to her account, and woke her.  He then pulled Harris off of the couch she was sleeping on and began assaulting her in front of their children.  By the time police arrived Mayweather was gone.
Harris was taken to Southern Hills Hospital for minor injuries.
Floyd Mayweather has been the subject of endless criticism in recent months.  He refused to sit down at the negotiating table for a prospective fight with superstar Manny Pacquiao even when Don King looked as if he would sign him.  Last week he posted an explicit video about the Philippine fight in which he called him “yellow” and a dog.
