hey- i'm 24 and i'm going to san fran w/ some of my friends- BUT after a couple of days we're all going our separate ways. i'm from new york and would love to see the rest of cali... even if it's by myself! i'm totally up for renting a car and heading down towards the laguna beach area. i'd love to do some shopping, tan on the beach, and hit up a spa! or really.. just about anything! :) i have a week off and i'm looking for some adventure.

so... my question is... is there any place around there that would be good for a single girl to go and not be surrounded by families or couples that are honeymooning? i've been trying to do some searching on the internet, but i just don't even know where to start.

  1. well for starters, you should deffinitely drive down Highway 1, it hugs the coast all the way down to San Diego, but I think the best views will be in northern-mid Cali.  Between San Fran and LA, there isn't much besides farmland, except if you wanted to head east and see the sequoias and Yosemite.

There's tons to do in LA, tons of beaches and shopping and spas.  Venice Beach and the Santa Monica pier are a lot of fun.  Venice has tons of little shops, vendors and artists, the pier is kinda neat because you'll recognize it from a lot of movies and TV shows.

San Diego beaches are nice too.  If you make it down to San Diego, you should go to Sea World... I know it may sould a little dorky for a girl our age, but it really is fun... my favorite thing there is feeding the dolphins.

  2. Big Sur will be your best choose, see a lot of pictures in http://www.bayareavisit.com/besttrips.ht...
