Show that P(4,2) is equidistant from A(9,2) And B(1,6).

Please help me by explaining you answer. Thanks sooo much = )

  1. Open up your book to the distance formula.

    Find the distance between P and A.  Then find the distance between P and B.

    Show that these two distances are the same - Done.


  2. the problem is when you square (1-4) 1-4=-3 but -3^2 is +9 (negative times negative is positive) then you&#039;ll add them together for 25 which has the square root of five

    Line (PA)² = (4 - 9)² + (2 - 2)²

    Line (PA)² = (-5)² + (0)²

    Line (PA)² = 25

    Line PA = 5

    Line (PB)² = (4 -1)² + (2 - 6)²

    Line (PB)² = (3)² + (-4)²

    Line (PB)² = 9 + 16

    Line (PB)² = 25

    Line PB = 5

    Therefore PA = PB They are equidistant
