My brother is 11 and he's a bit overweight. 90 lbs at 4'7. Today at school he got made fun of and was called fat by another kid during gym time for some strange reason. I never think of my brother as fat although he has gotten a bit fatter over the years. Now my brother thinks that he's obese and looks up pictures of obese kids on the Internet and SAYS that he's like them!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is athletic, personable, nice, you name it. So what pissed me off so frigin much was that this dumbshit kid then went on saying that my brother was "ugly".

My brother is truthfully one of the best looking kids in the world, in my opinion. Not saying that cause I'm his brother, it's my opinion.

So..

What should I do to help him solve this mini fight with this dumbass kid and eventually help him gain self confidence.

PS i don't make fun of him and do not belittle him.

  1. Well I am a mom and there have been times in my kids lives that I have wanted to pound on or tell off one of their peers ha ha!  You are a great brother for being so concerned- he is lucky!   I think, as you are cooling off, that you are finding the solution yourself.  Let it go as far as the other kid.  The thing that worries me about your brother is that one time (was it just once or has this been occurring regularly?) he takes that kind of defeated position.  Coach him that he can deal with this with humor, he can hold his head up and be his cool self and that some kids just say mean things but usually grow out of it after high school.  I wish you serenity

  2. You teach him about Bullies and how to let what they say make no difference in his life or how he chooses to live it. He will encounter bullies the rest of his life, everywhere he goes and around every corner. No one is immune to them.

Confronting him will only put yourself on his level and give him the satisfaction of knowing he made a difference in your life and the life of your brother.

    Let it go.
