I recevied a joke with is word in it.. in this following sentence

"Nah ***** u a bat!"

Google it. its a derogatory word created by white slave owners in the 1500's to black people that they enslaved. It is considered a racial slur and is a negative word used towards african americans. however u will find that most black ppl use this word as a form of greeting to another black person. the original word has an "er" on the end and over time black ppl has taken off the "er" and replaced with an "a" and somehow we think this changes the meaning but it does not. we say it and we should not , as a black person i try to refrain from using it but because of what the word actually means, it does not bother me because"A word only has as much power as u give it."
