Question:

Regular contact lens.. NOT TORIC for astigmatism?

well i have astigmatism -0.75 both eyes and im currently wearing toric contact lens and one day i have a friend who happens to have the same grade as mine wear a regular one and i try it its much more better than the ones i was wearing

and its much more CHEAPER and im kinda broke

so is it okay to wear the regular ones?

please answer me quickly tommorrow is the expiration of my contacts and i will buy one today

  1. Um. You relly need your Doctor's input. Just wearing adifferent contact lense is bad. Your eyes are not made the same as your friend's eye and it can cause complications that can lead to blindness. I am not kidding. I am an optician that wears contacts.  And a mom of teens that wear contacts. Do not be goofy! Call your doctor and get the right ones. And injury due to improper contact lens wear is more expensive!


  2. Please us the toric lenses. They offer the best image sharpness and clearness.

  3. You can wear regular (spherical) lenses but only after you have consulted your optician or eye doctor.

    The thing to remember is since you would no longer getting correction for your astigmatism you may not be seeing as clearly as you would with the toric lenses.

  4. Write out the prescription you have on your boxes of torics that you have now..and what power your friend is wearing.

    I'm curious about what you seem to see better with....
