Rehearsal dinner.?

My friend is getting married tomorrow evening. I am her MOH therefore I have been included in all the wedding activities this past week. Well tonight is the rehersal dinner. Well she told me that my husband (not in the wedding party) was also invited to the rehersal dinner. I didn't know this until just yesterday as he wasn't included in any of the other activities. Well my hubby works for an oil refinery & he didn't know until this afternoon that he had to work tomorrow. My dilehma.The dinner was prepaid for as it is at a country club. I've already contacted her and told her that my hubby would not be able to attend. (He gets home from work at 5 pm and will have to come home and get ready rather quickly as the dinner is at 7 & it is almost 2 hours away from where we live)

He leaves for work at 4 am & we wouldn't be getting home until around midnight or so if he did attend..which he cant go to work on only 4 hrs of sleep. Should I offer my friends future inlaws repayment for his spot

no of course not. you never even told her he was coming. she shouldn't have paid for him without asking you if he was definitely coming.

no if she didnt personaly pay for it dont worry about it, it doesnt seem like she is worried about it so go and have fun!!

No, don't pay for his spot! It was nice of them to invite him, but they knew he probably wouldn't make it anyway, so that's fine. Leave it at that. Have fun! 8)

You are not obligated to pay for his spot....it is usually a bulk fee, not an individual thing.

Do not worry about repaying for them, it is fine. However you can maybe ask the bride and bring somebody else. Your sister, or your friend who is invited to the wedding but not part of the bridal party.
