The manager insists his side has a tough task ahead of staying in the Bundesliga and claimed that he is up for the challenge.
Hertha Berlin’s new manager, Otto Rehhagel, has revealed that his side is in danger of being relegated at the end of the season. He claimed that the side will have to work very hard to stay in the Bundesliga next season and insisted
that it will be a great challenge for him also.
The Berlin giants currently occupy the 15th spot on the standings table and are only two points away from the relegation zone. The club has lost all of the last five league games and are going through a dreadful run
of form.
Rehhagel claimed that his new side is certainly in danger of facing the drop and admitted that he wants to help them with his vast experience in the Bundesliga. He added that his main aim would be to keep the club in the first
division for the next campaign in the next three months.
“The team is in grave danger and I want to help them with my vast experience. I feel fit and am looking forward to an exciting challenge. I want to keep Hertha in the Bundesliga and that is what I will be concentrating on for the
next three months,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Bayern Munich boss also expressed his delighted on his return to the German league. He admitted that managing sides in the Bundesliga has always been a great experience for him and is confident that his stint this time
around will also pay off.
“I am delighted to have such an opportunity. I haven't lost my touch, but I cannot score goals, I can tell you that straight away. The lads do the work, I am just there to supervise and intervene,” he concluded.
