Reid granted life membership of Albatross Golf Resort
Melissa Reid, the English golfer, was awarded life time membership of Albatross Golf Resort after her win in Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters 2012.
Reid won the tournament by a narrow margin of one stroke, against Italy’s Diana Luna. The back nine was a tough competition with top golfers including Reid, Luna, Stefania Croce, and Rachel Bailey.
The tournament was particularly important for Melissa Reid. Her participation came after the death of her mother, Joy, in a tragic car accident.
The victory overjoyed Reid, who had to face tough resistance from various players in the back nine of the last round.
Reid is very pleased with the Albatross Golf Resort. According to her, it is a great place to play golf. Talking about the course, Reid said, “I think the course is absolutely fantastic. I think it's in superb condition and it's going to be one of my favourite
courses of the year now”.
Albatross Golf Resort has become the top golf destination of Central Europe, despite its recent opening in 2009. The location just beside Cesky kras Nature Reserve gives it excellent views. Its altitude of 1377.95 feet (420 metres) is another great factor
for its popularity.
The players were charmed by the golf course. The splendid views and the top notch greens were greatly appreciated by the players.
Melissa Reid stated, "The set-up is fantastic and the greens staff, under the leadership of Course Manager Jiri Dvorak, should be commended for their work in getting the course into immaculate condition for the event".
Albatross Golf Resort is planning to host more international golf events in future. Its management had a great experience in working with Ladies European Golf, in hosting the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters.
Commending the efforts of the course management, Andy Lott of the Ladies' European Tour, said, "Albatross Golf Resort is one of the best golf courses in Europe. The practice facilities and amenities for the players are tremendous, not to mention the quality
of the course".
Reid is scheduled to appear in future LET events. However, Albatross Golf Resort would remain special to her for the eventful tournament she won here.
