  1. What a complete waste of your time and money.

Reiki is mystical nonsense, a Japanese version of "energy healing".  There is no evidence of "ki" (their version of the life force energy) and no evidence anyone can detect it or manipulate it, or that said unproven manipulation can have an effect on health.  Paying money to take a course in self deception is just stupid.

Reiki "masters" are among the more arrogant and deluded of the AM crowd.  Maybe because they humbly call themselves masters?

  2. I took a Level I course in animal Reiki in March.  I have been using it with shelter animals and my cats at home since then.  I have found my "results" very exciting and am looking forward to continuing with Level II training in October.

  3. 1. Yes, I have completed level I, II and III of the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage. There are many different branches available. The energy is the same, Reiki, but the techniques, teachings and applications differ between them.

    2. Yes, many times and I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I treat myself as well. My students treat themselves and others too.

My opinion - save up 50 bucks or so and go and get a single treatment. If you like it, get the training.

You'll find lots of anti-Reiki people around. Ask them two simple questions:

1."Have you ever had a treatment?"

    2. "Would you be willing to come with me and we'll get a treatment each?"

Their answers will tell you alot about them. As people, we often put down things that we haven't experienced.

  4. I am a Reiki practitioner, level 2.  I find it extremely beneficial.  I am working towards being Reiki Master which will let me train others.  I give Reiki to my friends and family and get their feedback and they have all felt results, in different ways, some feel just more relaxed and others have felt emotional.  One of my friends who suffers from anxiety loves to receive Reiki, it helps her feel grounded and the tension goes away.  Just follow your intuition, if it is leading you to be a healer then you are making the right decision.

  5. I have receive Reiki on and off for more than 20 years. I have been a Reiki Master Teacher for about 8 years.

As a Recipient of Reiki, I have had wonderful results both medically and personally. It has transformed my health and my life. As a practicing Reiki Master Teacher, I have seen my clients receive many positive results in health and quality of life. Don't worry about the skeptics, they do not know. They have not tried it and they have not researched it. In fact the websited that skep doc cites are his own creation.

As for arrogance, as in any field you will find practitioners of various skill level and different personality types. Arrogance is not part of the teachings so if your healer comes across as arrogant they may not be the healer for you.

As for the term Master, I am not have people address me as "Master" nor do any of the Reiki Masters that I know.

The Usui tradition of Reiki is taught in either three or four levels, third level being called Master and if your  teacher offers a fourth level, it is teacher training.

The title of Master simply refers to the level of training the practitioner has received. I do not see arrogance in informing potential clients of the level of training you have received. I think they have a right to know.

I have included some links to some research that has been done on Reiki Just in case you are interested in knowing that scientific studies do exist.

  6. I have been teaching Reiki since 1995. In 1997 I began teaching Reiki at a local Nursing School for continuing education.  My School limits the pricing that I charge, so my fees are minimum of what has been advertised with most groups.  My intention was not to Offend all the other Professors.  I try to make Reiki as Mainstream as possible allowing everyone to understand and enjoy.

The more I do Reiki and teach it the more I learn, I just love it.

I have seen amazing results from many different people.  Some people take the class just to help someone they love. We see this on a regular basis at the Cancer Therapy Research Center where my students and I do Free Reiki.

I was associated with a group that was doing Health Fairs all over the city and because I did Free Reiki they didn't charge me for a booth.  My goal was to get it out there, so people knew they had more choices to help them. And it has been amazing.  We would start off with sceptism and people looking at us, then someone would go through their ego and get on the Massage table, that person would tell everyone in the Health Fair and WOW we had 30 people Lined up for sessions.

  7. This stuff is laughable.
