Reina looking to actually achieve something at Liverpool
Liverpool's first choice keeper, Pepe Reina is currently on the verge of breaking history. Some might take that as a joke considering just how poorly Liverpool have been doing this season,
but the Liverpool shot stopper is looking to break the long-standing club record of number of clean sheets kept at Anfield. If the keeper is to go on and keep Tottenham from scoring past him this Sunday then he would go into Liverpool's history as the most
successful keeper to ever play for the club.
Going into tomorrow’s game, the Spanish third choice keeper has managed to keep ninety nine clean sheets in the hundred and ninety six matches that he has player for Liverpool. If he manages to get the hundredth clean sheet tomorrow, then
he will be the fastest keeper in Liverpool's history to reach the milestone.
When people think of Liverpool the first player that comes to everyone's mind is either Steven Gerrard or Fernando Torres. However the only player to have shown more consistency and determination for the team, despite having such a poor
start to his season is Pepe Reina. Even when Liverpool were falling apart left and right, the only player to have stood firm is Reina.
The fact that the keeper has managed to win the Golden Gloves four out of the last five possible times goes to show just how good he really is. Reina has managed to win the Golden Gloves on so many different occasions, despite the likes
of Petr Cech playing in the Premier League alongside that it proves the capabilities and importance of the goal keeper.
If Reina does manage to land his hundredth clean sheet for the club, it might prove to be not all that good for Liverpool. Liverpool are currently in no position to challenge for any title and if Reina has another season of performing
brilliantly and not really achieving anything, then he might just be forced to walk out of the club at the end of the season, following the interest the keeper has stirred up in most parts of Europe.
However it is still uncertain as to what will happen in the near future and Liverpool fan's will be hoping that their true hero and saviour manages to think otherwise and extends his stay at the club.
