Nonetheless, the veteran goalkeeper has revealed that his hamstring problem has improved considerably and he still has an outside chance of making it for the Everton game.
However, he said that he is not willing to risk aggravating his injury by making a premature return and will only make a comeback once he has made a complete recovery.
“I'm getting better, little by little,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“It wasn't worth taking any risks because you risk it getting worse. I'll be patient and get really good.”
The Spaniard was also all praise for Jones for playing a crucial hand in helping the team record their first league win at home this campaign, insisting that the Australian footballer hardly put a foot wrong in the game.
“Brad was excellent. He was composed, he was really good in the air, when he was called on he was fast off his line, and he played well with his feet. He had a complete game. He's a good fighter and a good 'keeper for Liverpool,” he added.
Liverpool, who currently find themselves in the 12th place in the table, will be looking to further extend their recent impressive record against the Toffees.
