The Liverpool goalkeeper has stressed that the ban of Luis Suarez is ‘absurd’ and claimed that the attacker has been discriminated in comparison to others
Luis Suarez has been banned by the FA for violent conduct and the player will be out for 10 games. This means that he will not be available for Liverpool this season and the club will have to play without their star striker.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 has admitted that the ban on the former Ajax Amsterdam man has been excessive and has criticised the governing bodies’ decision. The goalkeeper claimed that the player was wrong in whatever he did but he did not deserve
the 10-game ban by the FA.
The shot stopper hailed Luis Suarez as an amazing person and admitted that the forward has a great personality. He praised Suarez’s performances throughout the course of the season and insisted that he has been Liverpool’s best
player.
“He knows he is wrong but a 10-game ban seems to me absurd, out of proportion and excessive. I know Luis and I know that he is the complete opposite [off the pitch]. He is a magnificent person and great team-mate,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Reina insisted that there has been a lot of hypocrisy in the media. He insisted that there have been cases when the same incidents have been reported and there have been lesser bans on them.
The Spaniard stated that the situation had been different if an English player was involved in the same case.
“There is a lot of hypocrisy. In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 there [is a] very sensationalist media that pay more attention to some than others. In the racism cases: the one with proof got a four-game ban [Terry] and Luis got eight matches. [If] he
was an English player I think the treatment [would be] different,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at Anfield with a 2-2 scoreline. Luis Suarez scored in the dying minutes of the game to earn a point for the home side. They will next take on Newcastle United in an away game
this weekend.
