The instructions on how to do this experiment starts at very bottom of fourth "details" section. The rest pertains to my ongoing research into the mormon religion.[see profile] Due to the abnormal silence from my usual responders after posting this information, I decided to make expieriment info available to a few other catagories who might be interested as well. That is why you are reading this now.I know some of the people in THIS catagory are familiar with a young childs knowledge, but MANY are not. SO,details of personal expierence with a childs memories of past lives and time spent with God, is MUCH appreciated. If you think this and/or link question is interesting enough to share with a star, then PLEASE DO!!

  1. i don't believe in reincarnation i think it is just a story

  2. Unless you are a Buddhist, why would you be a reincarnation of anything?

  3. Reincarnation is what we call Karma! We come over and over to pay old debts of each lives.

We must learn the Law of God to understand this.

    Love will teach you all.

  4. Personally I think reincarnation is a ridiculous concept. My friend,a christian, calls it blasphemous and sinful. So no,we have no interest in it.How many times are you going to ask?You must have some agenda.

  5. You bring up an interesting example.  How do we explain the statements made by little children who claim to know of a life before they were born?  I’ve heard of such things.  I’ve also studied hypnosis for awhile, and there are many examples of people “remembering,” under hypnosis, things they did in past lives.  Some of these stories are very convincing.  Sometimes these stories are collaborated by physical facts.  The person seems to remember details of people, places, and events that he seemingly could not know, unless he had actually been there in the past.  Can a person lie while hypnotized?  These things have been much debated.

As scientists, we don’t know all the answers yet.  We do know that the human brain is capable of doing many amazing things.  The brain can store, in amazing detail random bits of trivia: maps seen, conversations overheard, dreams had, books read, and movies seen.  The brain is also capable of storing impressions, hopes, fears, desires, and other feelings.  We also know that not every memory stored in the brain corresponds to truth.  We color our memories, we invent memories, and we can’t tell the difference between our false memories and our true memories.  A recent article in the National Geographic (to name one of many references that could be cited) talked about these things.

We like to think that little children cannot lie, that “from the mouth of babes” the truth is often revealed.  True, many times little children have truths given to them.  But it is also true that many times children make up stories and cannot tell the difference between an imaginary event and a real event.  It used to be that the testimony of a little child was always taken as truth.  If a small girl said her daughter abused her, it was taken for granted that she was telling the truth.  How could she know such details about adult behavior?  Why would she lie?  On such evidence many men went to prison, only to be released years later when it was discovered that the child was a victim of false memory syndrome.

Part of the problem is a lot depends on who asks the questions, and how they are asked.  Children want to please, and they are remarkably adept at reading the emotions and feelings of adults.  If they sense that what they are saying is what the adult wants to hear, they go on and on making up stuff that will please the adult.  An adult can say, “And did he touch you here, and here?”  The child will give the answer the adult wants to hear.  The child has difficulty understanding that making up stuff is wrong.  And he has trouble seeing the difference between imagination and reality.  This is the reason children are no longer allowed to be interviewed in abuse cases unless a psychologist for the defense is present, if the testimony is allowed at all.

I have five younger siblings, and I have had seven children of my own.  From my own experience I can tell you that you can’t trust what little children say.  It is not that they mean to tell a lie.  I had a younger brother who made up the most outlandish stories.  We all pretended to go along with him, because his stories were so entertaining.  And he seemed to believe in them, but they could not have been true.  Once he was asked where he learned all these things from, and he replied, “My tummy told me.”  When encouraged children will say what you want them to say.

I have many strong reasons for believing that reincarnation is NOT true.  My reasons are much stronger than the occasional stories from children and the inventions of those under hypnosis, despite the fact that these stories can be amazing and hard to explain.

  6. I do believe in reincarnation. I'm a spiritualist and I too believe we choose to come to earth to learn (like a school), this enables our spiritual self to grow and develop as well as the soul group we are part of. If we miss the lesson or the material world throws us off track we can reincarnate to re-learn the lesson. I believe the only person who judges us is our own higher self.

With regards to wanting to know about my child past life. I believe if we were meant to know this information in this life then we'd know. if not then so be it. Although if my son gave me information about another life before this one i would listen and take it into account.

Also to the person who calls it sinful to believe in past lifes..the holy bible has a number of references owing to the belief in reincarnation, evidence has found that the bible may have taught this practice several centuries ago before it was removed by the modern christianity.
