Question:

Reinforce figure skates?

My skates are giving out on a daily basis. I can see new creases forming by the ankles as well as new scuffs everywhere. I mentioned this to my coach and she said I can take them to a shoe repair place and they can reinforce them with more leather. I think they proably insert it into the boot somehow. This method will cost $50 opposed to the $600+ that new skates will cost.

I was just wondering if anyone has had this done to their skates?

How long does it last?

Is it even worth it because I'm pretty sure I'm in need of a stiffer, better model as well as a more advanced blade?

  1. You can definitely have your skates rebuilt.  Usually, they end up stiffer than they were when they were new but it is a quick and cheap fix for skates that are broken down.

  2. it works well and lasts for a long while 4-5 years and its quick and cheap!!!!!!!!!!yay!!!!!!!!!!
