Do you believe that a man should follow the way of life of another man in hopes of getting all the riches the man before him had received, sr should The man create his own path through the guidelines of the man before him. I already know my answer, so just pick one or expand on one and tell me why. A man can follow anothers path, i find this a bit similar cheating. A man could take this 'shortcut' but a man of principles would obviously create his own path through the guidelines of others or just create a path out of what he feels to be right.

I think of Religion as a freeway to a certain end. I think people follow the guidelines of their bible too strictly. In simple terms, people have missed their exits.

I am Atheist but I've read the Bible, and God gave man free will, but in many places it seems as though it limits free will, i.e. (do this or be damned to h**l).

I think that free will is a key that God has hidden in his book. Because God's ultimate test is not to see if you can follow his road to heaven but if you can create your own road there.

Someone has said "God has given us a key to unlock heaven, but that key also unlocks the gates of h**l." I may be athiest but I find many a truth in the bible.

There is indeed philosophy in religion. Religion was the only answer philosophers gave the world when they could not solve a problem.

I have wondered a bit, but I hope you'll see the point behind this.

  1. For once here is someone I can actually agree with in any kind of religic topic, and I have to say I am surprised.   The way you put it is so simple and true. It can be applied whether or not you belive in god, or whatever else, and this I believe is the way that should be taught to all of those in question of what they belive.

I believe in God, but I don't follow the strict ways of any of the religions that follow him.

I admire your train of though and agree wholly.

  2. I believe that if a man is satisfied with his life. It doesn't matter who he copied or what bandwagon he jumped on to get there. For some people they may feel they cheated and cut corners to get to where they are others may see it as an intelligent move. As long as one is satisfied I don't think it makes a difference.

  3. honestly this is what i believe,  that was waaaaaaaaaaaaay 2 long

  4. Yeah, I think that no one should or can copy someone's life down exactly, but it doesn't hurt using guidelines (assuming the original human was a decent human). I think the best way to go it to pick out the best traits out of a lot of people, rather than one individual and base your guidelines on that.

    Hope I helped.

  5. Some good thoughts. But you are not an atheist. Atheists do not believe that there is a God. You clearly know that God exists just not what God is.

Man cannot find God in Scriptures but he can see how others experienced God in their lives and be guided by this. The key here is that it is a personal experience with us all. There is nothing in life that is experienced outside of mind so it is in your conscious that you know that God is. This is where His Spirit resides for God is Spirit and has sent into all normal minds a fragment of this spirit to dwell in our consciousness so that God has found you now it is up to you to find God in your life. Your search has begun and He will guide you as you go through your life just as far as you are willing to do his will. The easy way of knowing what that will is  live your life based on truth, beauty, and goodness.

A good base for study of all that I have left you to think about is found in The Urantia Book. Check it out on line then make up your mind as to whether or not this is for you.

  6. i see what your saying and i do agree... mostly..

yes create your own road to heaven doing deeds be they great or small, giving you money or dust. The bible is a guideline though. It can be frank  @ times and i often murmur and  grumble things under my breath whilst i read the old testament but without its teachings i would be opening the gates of h**l right now and walking through them unknowingly.......

I am catholic though and i believe that God is just and will not ignore me  and "d**n me to h**l" if i fail but will help me correct my path and use what talents i have been given to do the right thing on my own journey...

anywhooo... im not quite sure what i just wrote.. i hope it makes sense..... my brain is a bit sloshy without my evening coffee...

    peace

  7. “To Thine Own Self Be True”.   :)

In my Opinion....Religion is ok to the extent that it serves the purpose of the self.

Following another is also ok, again only as far and for as long as the other offers something that is beneficial to the self.

(neither religion nor another person, should be followed to such a degree that it becomes a crutch or leaning post.)

    Know Thyself.

    Be Your Self.

Enjoy the Company of Others along your own individual path.

    Steady as you Go.
