Valery Reinhold believes that the Russian outfit deserved to lose the UEFA Champions’ League group stage game against Celtic FC at Luzhniki stadium
Spartak Moscow suffered a 2-3 defeat in their second UEFA Champions League group stage match against Celtic FC at home on the back of an away defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 at Nou Camp.
Like their previous match against the Spanish outfit, the Moscow-based club failed to retain their one-goal lead against the Scottish Premier League club. As things stand, they are at the bottom spot on their respective group table.
Famous Russian football expert, Valery Reinhold, has blamed Spartak for their poor start to the European campaign this term, saying that they deserved to lose the opening two games despite playing under European experienced head
coach, Unai Emery.
The Spanish tactician, who joined Spartak after leaving http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 this summer, is known for his European experience after helping La Liga club in reaching the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League in 2009-10 and
2011-12 respectively.
Reinhold revealed that Emery needs to address the defensive problems in the team after conceding six goals in the opening two European games. He urged the former Real Sociedad player to conduct training sessions to ensure clean
sheets in the remaining matches of the European competition.
“It's crazy to concede three goals at home in the Champions League. I did not believe a team of that stature can let so many goals in.”
“Reinhold insisted that the Russian Premier League club is struggling at the moment, warning them that they have a very little chance to remain in the tournament if they keep playing like they are playing at
the moment.” The 70-year-old was quoted as saying.
Commenting on the sending off that played a major role in Spartak’s second European defeat, Reinhold insisted that Juan Insaurralde was rightly punished for a late tackle on Gary Hooper in the penalty box.
The Russian player went on to shower praise on Emmanuel Emenike after seeing the Nigerian International in action, saying that the 25-year-old striker terrorized the defenders after compiling a brace against
the hoops.
