Question:

Reinstalling windows?

My computer has a virus on it, and my friend has suggested that erasing everything on the hard drive would be the easiest way to get rid of this problem. However, I'm not a computer expert and I don't know how to do this. I thought it had something to do with the Control Panel, but I guess this virus is especially bad, because I can't get into my Control Panel. Anybody know what I should do? I have had a similar virus before, and my brother was able to remove it by reinstalling Windows. However, he's not coming home for a while, and I'd like to have this problem fixed soon.

  1. Insert the system recovery CD (if you have one) or the Windows installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and reboot. This should bring you into the Windows setup screen. When prompted, select the reformat option and install a new Windows OS on your system.
