Reja hails Hernanes for improvement in his game and brands Juventus as Scudetto favourites
Lazio manager, Edy Reja, has praised the midfielder, Hernanes, and believes that the Brazilian has become a consistent performer for his club.
The former Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 star finished as the highest goal-scorer for the Biancazzurri in his debut campaign with the club last season. However, despite scoring 12 goals in 37 appearances last season, the attacking midfielder was heavily
criticised for his lack of teamwork and consistency.
The 26-year-old has scored 5 goals in 11 games so far this season and Reja believes that the Brazilian international is improving all the time. The 66-year-old admitted that he has worked hard with the midfielder during the summer
and he has shown visible improvements this season. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss added that Hernanes has improved a lot with his positioning and has adapted himself nicely in the team’s tactics.
Reja said, "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hernanes-c16150 is improving a great deal, as he no longer has these dips in form and is learning to move without the ball. He is growing tactically and I think he can do even better, which of course will help improve Lazio."
Lazio have had a wonderful start to the 2011/12 season and are growing in confidence as the games are passing by. The Biancocelesti have picked up 18 points from their opening nine games of the season so far and are placed third
in the league table. They drift the league leaders, Juventus, by just one point.
Despite establishing themselves as genuine contenders for the Scudetto, Reja believes that Antonio Conte’s Juventus are the favourites to win the league this season. The veteran tactician insists that the Old Lady have the advantage
of concentrating only on the league only as they do not have any European commitments this season.
“There is no over-riding favourite for the title, but obviously those who are not in Europe have more opportunity to prepare for games. For example, Juventus have an advantage because they can think only about this competition.
Meanwhile, I have to count who is left off the treatment table.”
