Reja happy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775’s away form and all-praise for Djibril Cisse: Serie A news
Lazio manager, Edy Reja, is delighted with his team’s away form and is all-praise for his team’s performance against Cagliari.
The Biancazzurri beat Massimo Ficcadenti’s men 3-0 at the Stadio Sant’Elia on Sunday, October 30th, 2011. This was their 4th away win of the 2011/12 season and the manager insisted that it is the home form they need to worry upon.
The 66-year-old insisted that the teams take a cautious approach while playing at the Stadio Olimpico that is why his team has been able to register only one win at their home. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss insisted that his team created so many chances in their previous home game against Catania at home but they could not make full use of it.
However, they were clinical in front of goal against the Rossoblu and deserved to win the game. The veteran tactician believes that his team’s experience and character helped them to beat Cagliari and it is difficult to get a win at their home.
“Why do we do better away from home? At the Olimpico we tend to meet teams who clam up, so it is difficult to find space. Last week against Catania we created five scoring opportunities and didn’t make the most of them, while we did tonight. That’s the only difference. We have experience and character, because winning a game in Cagliari is not easy. Today we were relaxed and had belief in our abilities.”
Reja defended Djibril Cisse’s reaction to his substitution in the 84th minute and admitted that the striker played extremely well and contributed two assists. The Frenchman has scored only one goal in the ongoing league campaign so far and is under severe criticism. However, Reja believes that the former Olympique Marseille star is satisfied with his team’s performances whenever they win.
“Cissè had a great game and worked hard for the team, so he is certainly becoming an important player. When the team wins, then he is happy, so he has to continue this way.”
Lazio continue to impress in the league and have picked up 18 points from nine games played thus far.
