My Dad is retired, and spending all his time doing geneology. He found on my Mother's side, a line to William the Conqueror, and centuries of bloodlines after. Has anyone else done detailed searches to include him also?

  1. Yep... my family goes back to Louis XIV of France and James III of Scotland... if I can't find a descendant of billy the b*****d on the family tree of either of those, I still got plenty royalty to console myself.

  2. Bloody Norman! LOL.

  3. Yes, if Ancestry.com is correct, my lineage extends back to the House of Stuart through Charles II (by way of Lucy Walters; yes, I am an American descendant of the Spencers), James II of Scotland, and Robert the Bruce.  If so, then I can also trace my ancestry back to William the Conqueror and Charlemagne--not to mention Machiavelli.  Ancestry.com also notes that I'm a 9th cousin of both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush as well as an 8th cousin, three times removed, to Elizabeth II (through the Queen Mum), so the Machiavelli part explains a lot.  Meanwhile, I'm also a descendant of a lot of Scots and English ancestors who have no claim to notoriety.

No--I haven't been contacted by the Illuminati.  BTW, British history texts refer to William I instead of William the Conqueror.

  4. Roy is a normand name ^  ^ it means King in old  French

Many english people are of norman ancestries , all Normans who were in England staied , and they are still There , many people are of Normans ancestries ,

William The Conqueror is a Norman of Frankish and Gallic (celts) Origin,Her mother was a normal woman from the city who had a baby with the duc of Normandy,

his Father was a norman duc  , His father Have many Vikings ancestries , and Williams SAID ThAT the English corown was Belong to Him , cause He si teh descandants of an ancient vikings King of England (i Think)

Then Williams had many descandants  like Richar lion Heart ect

He fought in Hasting , Harold , a saxon-Kings , and He took the corown , Then french noman became the official language of England and join to anglo-saxon for make "English" language

William 's name is William in english

and in Normand french i Think it was "Ouilliams" Or "villiams"

and the modern french name is "Guillaume"  parisian version of the name "Villiams/Ouilliams"

  5. It's rather difficult to trace exactly unless you have royal blood.. but because number of decendants grow exponetially down generations, the fact of the matter is millions of people are probably related to William of Normandy.  And Attila the Hun, and Alexander, and so on.
