Relation between environment and relief features?

how both are related. wanted these points for a geography project. please help

First there are large and small scale features that give large and small scale climate effects.

Small scale (microclimate) is stuff like a south facing hill losing the snow first and growing plants you would expect to see farther south.

Large scale is like the deserts produced by rainshadows from the mountains. Rainshadow is where there is no rain because the mountains block it.

As the mountains block the rain they force it to fall on the other side of the mountains this is why most mountain ranges have rainforests on one side and deserts on the other.
