Relax likely to dominate proceedings in the ICB - International Construction Bureau Handicap Chase
Relax is expected to dominate proceedings in the ICB - International Construction Bureau Handicap Chase at Chepstow in England on Thursday, March 22, 2012. The winner of the class-4 event will walk away with a cash prize of £3,054.
Seven runners have been attracted towards the event, which is scheduled to start at 3:45 GMT, and their names are: Relax, Back Bob Back, Drom, Stormhoek, Rimini, Turbulance and Francis Du Mesnil.
The going will be good to soft over the 2 mile, three furlong and 110 yard race, which will test the stamina of the participants.
The bookmakers have complete faith in the abilities of Relax, who has been in terrific form over the past few months. The punters will also be placing maximum number of bets in his favour.
Overall, the seven-year-old gelding has taken part in seven chase races, winning just a couple of them. Other than that, he has got a couple of second place finishes to his name as well, which suggests that he is a quality runner.
The most important thing about the Venetia Williams’ trained runner is that he has been doing a spectacular job over the past few months. His most recent outing saw him finish at the top of the table, which means he is in great rhythm at the moment.
Relax will be partnered by Aidan Coleman, who has got a decent strike rate in chase races and has won 118 of such events. He will be hoping to win another one at Chepstow today.
Back Bob Back, trained by Tom George, will also be the one to watch out for. He has a decent record and seems to be in good shape at the moment. He finished runner up in his previous outing, which would have boosted his confidence. However, he will not find
things easy at all, as the race favourite is in great rhythm at the moment.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in six chase races until now, winning one of them. He also secured one runner up and third place finish each. His partner today will be Paddy Brennan, who has earned 189 chase victories in his career.
Relax seems to be in a great position at the moment, thus it will be difficult for the rest of the runners to challenge him today.
