Relax to cross the wire first in the SVS Securities Preferred Partnership For IFA’s Novices’ Handicap Chase
Relax looking to prevail in the SVS Securities Preferred Partnership For IFA’s Novices’ Handicap Chase at Plumpton on 12th March, 2012.
The seven-year-old gelding will be competing against Humbel Ben, Wheres Johnny, Alldunnandusted, According To Them, Kitchen Loan and One And All. These runners will be competing over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs on a soft track for a purse
of £3,054.
With a victory already under his belt, it looks like Relax will be the one to beat in this race.
Much to the satisfaction of his trainer Venetia Williams, the son of Fragrant Mix, out of Magik, defeated evening’s favourite Sybarite by a large margin of 6 lengths, in the Kirkby Mallory Maiden Chase at Leicester on 9th March,
2012.
This did not settle well with the bookmakers as they lost major bets, but it made the gelding’s connections, especially his owner, The Bellamy Partnership beam with pride.
They are expecting a performance of the same calibre in this race.
This was a remarkable improvement as the gelding finished seventh in the Postracing.net – Site For Winners Handicap Chase at Towcester on 26th
November, 2011.
Wheres Johnny, trained by Jamie Poulton, delivered an average performance in his previous race. He finished sixth in a line-up of nine runners in the SIS Live Handicap Hurdle at Plumpton on 27th February, 2012.
However, he the son of Touch Of Grey, out of Lady Poly, is gaining popularity in the market based on the fact that this track is familiar to the eleven-year-old gelding.
He finished as a runner-up in his seasonal debut as he was defeated by the race favourite, Action Impact, by an immense margin of 12 lengths in the Attheraces.com Exclusive Hugh Taylor Tipping Handicap Hurdle on 2nd January,
at the same track.
Alldunnandusted was pulled-up from his most recent race, but he managed to secure a second place finish at Plumpton in his seasonal debut.
The son of Rudimentary, out of Megans Dreamer, finished 15 lengths after evening’s favourite, Niceonefrankie, in the Revelstoke Wine Company Handicap Chase at Plumpton on 16th January, 2012.
According To Them and One And All pulled up, and did not complete their last races.
Wheres Johnny is of great interest to the punters and the bookmakers. This is due to the fact that the eleven-year-old is more experienced than the other runners, and has known to race on this track multiple times.  Due to this, the odds are looking
up in his favour.
Relax is also attracting major bets, mainly because of the fact that he aced his last race and gave the bookmakers something to think about. His victory was not expected, but it will work in his favour and will not go unnoticed.
Alldunnandusted might acquire a finish in third place owing to his finish as a runner-up in the beginning of the race.
