Relaxation Methods??

So I've been having some trouble getting to sleep, since I'm always thinking about something it seems. Lately I've taken up meditation and other such things to help me wind down and relax, but I'm looking for some other things as well. So first, does anybody know if there are any really relaxing teas or something like that, most people tell me warm milk, but I really don't like milk. Also, does anybody know where I can download some relaxing sounds, kind of like the ones you would find in one of those machines that supposedly help you fall asleep. Preferably a forest setting, and something that is rather long. Also, It would be best if it can be put onto my iPod. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  1. to help with sleeping listen to sounds of nature!

    u can buy these kinds of things on itunes search music for deep sleep i recommend the thunder and rain one its the most relaxing other than the ocean waves!!!!!! im listening to it right now!!!


  2. it starts with what you do when you first get home.  Clean your home and do your bills, then eat dinner with the family.  now it is time for a nice walk, a paddle around the lake, or a nice bike ride.  follow that with a nice long shower, or bath.  read a book for ten minutes to a half an hour...not an exciting book or catolog.  like a news paper or short story.

  3. I once set a tape recorder next to a stream and taped it for 45 minutes.  Now I play that sometimes and it's REALLY relaxing.

    I also meditate, and that helps me fall asleep.

    Another thing I do:  if my mind is really active, I imagine taking the thoughts I'm thinking and releasing them into the sky, and then I follow them.  That works well sometimes.

    And when I'm feeling less enlightened, after being sleepless for a few nights in a row, sometimes I'll buy Niquil.  It addresses a lot of symptoms I don't have at the time, but it sure puts me to sleep!

  4. if you don't like milk, make a drink with equal amounts of yogurt and water, mix them together and drink it, it will do the same trick as  warm milk and  realxes you.

  9. INCENSE! Burn one of those alone and think about your life and maybe put on some low music and by the end up that burning I guarantee you will be sleepy.

  10. you can sleep better by making your surroundings colder. don't drink beer or coffee before you go to sleep. chamomille tea will help you go to sleep. be careful what tea you drink as some will have caffiene (chamomille doesn't). you can buy those cds at walmart near the candles. i like to read or watch the weather channel, it makes me sleepy.  

  11. do yoga...? or think about a place you want to go and feel it like you are really there... the process is called imagery... you could try finding relaxation songs from limewire...

  12. Yes Try reading a book that is really boring... Or drink a warm glass of milk....... Sleeping pills is what usually helps me but I get those from a doctor.

    Also before going to bed try clearing ur mind taking deep breaths... Hope that will help

  14. Well, im going by the subject, and not all the stinkin words ;) anyways, i had some trouble sleeping, but here are a couple things.

    Masturbation- After reaching climax, you will relax.

    Music- Soothing music will help. Type in Soothing Music on youtube. It REALLY helps...
