Relectric heat controller

Question

The heat controller goes on and off unexpectedly. Sometimes it works for a long period of time and sometimes it only works for a short period and goes off. Can this be fixed or do I have to buy a new controller (where can this be found?) or a new grill. Must have an electric grill due to code restrictions.
