Reliable Man to swing back for the 150th Anniversary Of Prince Of Wales ‘s Stakes at Ascot
As has been the annual trend at the Ascot, the Group 1 150th Anniversary Of Prince Of Wales ‘s Stakes (British Champions Series) has brought together an overwhelmingly extra ordinary line-up. The £283,550 prize money event has attracted eleven
four-year and older runners to race over a mile and two furlongs on Wednesday, 20th June.
So You Think and Carlton House remain to be in the limelight but there needs to be some shed upon Reliable Man.
The four-year-old grey colt falls in the league of those who got through their maiden at the very first chance presented to them and further on attached two more victories to it and equalised it to a hat trick.
He cleared the maiden on 12th April, 2011 at Saint-Cloud over a mile and two furlongs. Riding with Gerald Mosse he led the Irish runner up, Dormello, by three lengths.
The 23/10 favourite of the race, Award Season, filled up the third slot on the track of fifteen.
His second career chance was in the Prix Du Mont Pagnotte (Conditions) on 9th May, 2011 at Chantilly over a mile and two furlongs. Once again paired up with the same jockey, Reliable Man, the 7/10 favourite, took charge of the decisive ¾ of a
length and set Veter as the runner up.
His striking a hat trick was no small affair as that came through the Group 1 Prix Du Jockey Club on 5th June at Chantilly over a mile and two and a half furlongs. With the regular jockey onboard, Dalakhani’s colt yanked away the title from the
runner up, Bubble Chic, who was reeling in by just ¾ of a length.
His final success of the previous season and of the career till yet was in the Group 2 Qatar Prix Niel on 11th September, 2011 at Longchamp over a mile and four furlongs.
He set the evening’s favourite, Meandre, into the second slot while leading by two lengths. Coming at terms with the third position was Vadamar.
His 2012 campaign has not been as eventful as the debut season however the third position in the Group 1 Prix Ganay was quite decent.
The race was won by the 8/13 favoutite stable mate, Cirrus Des Aigles.
The honour of winning the Prince Of Wale’s Stakes went to the Godolphin through Rewilding trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni.
Reliable Man sure has to counter competition today but two graded races under belt and a place in another graded race indicates his potential of being dominant today.
