J.C. Romero, to a one-year contract on Thursday, December 15, 2011.
Having the speciality of a left hander on their team, the St. Louis Cardinals believe that it would be a depth providing addition to the roster with versatility and a dynamic style of play.
"Romero is a proven lefty specialist, who has been a valuable bullpen piece for winning teams throughout his career," said Cardinals' senior vice president, John Mozeliak. "We felt that it was important to maintain versatility and depth within our bullpen
and we feel that J.C. will be a solid addition."
The financial terms and conditions were not released according to some but reports by ESPN.com say that the one-year deal is worth $750,000 along with a possibility of another $750,000 in performance bonuses for the upcoming 2012 MLB season.
