  1. Voting is a known freedom, so politics is born.

  2. What has the Daughter or childes choices have to do with the Governing of our Country by a political candidate ?

Religions are an indicator of ones values.

By the way Sarah Palin as a Vise Presidential candidates executives experiences are far greater then the Dem's Presidential candidates.

  3. Because some people have no interest in what the candidates have to say but love juicy gossip. If politicians (from both sides) can fling enough mud without getting themselves dirty they can get elected. Unfortunately there are too many people who are scrutinizing the candidates personal lives and pay no heed to what they plan to do when they get in office.

Although that brings up a not too distant contradiction... it was NOT okay to discriminate against the black guy but the Mormon was fair game. Remember? Same discrimination. If it's okay for one, it should be okay for all and vice versa.

I say put them all on the Jerry Springer Show and let them duke it out. Just make sure Steve is there so things don't get too far out of hand.

    Edit:

Now your just generalizing... and please tell me you're not insinuating that because someone CHOOSES to be Mormon that it's okay to discriminate against them in the political arena because that's what you sound like. My point is that there shouldn't be ANY discrimination of a candidate based on color, creed, nationality, gender, religion, and so on and so forth. The only thing that should be up for discussion is what they plan on doing for the country. Not whether the great aunt of their next door neighbor's cousin's ex-girlfriend had an affair 25 years ago or any other garbage someone wants to dig up.

  4. Conservatives love to cover themselves with the hypocrisy blanket while they heap their own fecal matter upon the Liberals.

  5. It's not OK.

That's the long and short of it.

  6. the thing is that most presidents like to mention god in their speeches, something i find wrong. An atheist president would be more believable!

  7. The Palins are trailer trash with big bucks - that's why!

  8. I feel it is nobodies business what religion anybody is as long as it doesn't affect their work.

  9. Have you ever seen anything else about religion that was without any double standards?

  10. The United States' government has always been connected to religion. It probably always will be.

  11. They knew all about it before they backed her.

  12. both are ok. its an individual choice. some people care about those things and some people dont.

  13. I dont see how Palin is trying to legislate premarital s*x.

I dont see how a parent can be held repsonsible for everything their 17 year old kid does.  You might do everything right as a parent and your kid might, just might, have a mind of her own and go and be an idiot and get pregnant.

This girl knew about birth control.  She knew the morals and standards set in her house.  She went out and did her own thing.  Shocking.

If Palin was the one having an affair or something now, then that would make sense, but her daughter has a mind and body of her own that her parents cant control.

Atheists scrutinize candidates religious beliefs every bit as much as Christians, esp on this message board.  I can see why it would make a difference if you are deciding on 2 candidates with very similar stances on the issues, like in the primaries.  I dont see why any of this matters when it comes to the issues that are important to the presidency now in the general election.

I dont think its fair to hold a parent responsible for everything an almost adult child does and even if the person wasnt living up to the standards they were trying to get others to live by doesnt mean I disagree with the standards they are professing should be set and lived by.

If a person is supporting the issues I support and happens to also be mormon but then goes out and has an affair, there is no way I would let their moral failings make me suddenly abandon all my political beliefs and go and vote for the democrat.

I dont care if they are living by my moral standards.  I care if they stick with my political beliefs in their voting records.

McCain could go have an affair tomorrow and I still wouldnt go run and vote Obama.  Thats not hypocritical because I always vote on the issues and the persons individual moral character really only matters to me if I am deciding btwn 2 people with the same political ideology.

    Zilla

You cant prove the parents did anything wrong here.

Sometimes parents do everything they can and the kids still mess up.

For most kids that fail and drop out of school, it is the parents and the students combined.

2 kids having s*x, I cant assume its the parents here because I know quite a few instances where idiot kids think it cant ever happen to them and then it happens to them.  The parents werent at fault.  They taught them right from wrong.  They knew about protection.  They were there for their kids.

Sometimes kids just dont listen or do what they were taught.

  14. Christians are sinners just like everyone else. No, it would be best if Sarah Palin's daughter had not chosen to sin, but she did. And as to Sen. Obama's being a Muslim, he is not. My only concern even if he was would be how his religion would affect decisions he had to make regarding our national security.

Religious people will scrutinize every polititician for their basic beliefs, not their level of piety. No man or woman is perfect, including us.

  15. no one is without fault........

    John 8;  7

When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."

im not voting for Obama or Mc Cain.... but why do people try to point out the faults of others...when they have many of their own to worry about?

Matthew 7: 1 - 5 ; "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged, and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you, And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye," and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

  16. hey, too busy to be spoils of war!

i understand what you are saying. the fact is, do you want to hang, publicly for the crime of another?  no one does.

Palin's daughter is pregnant, fact,   but you try to raise your kids to do the right thing, but she is with child,  what now?

the right thing to do is to not kill the child.  in this country we do not need to kill the innocent, there is plenty of guilty to kill. ( a joke if you catch it)

why are you worried about her daughter, honestly i mean that?

are you going to tell me that as a mother, you don't have an errant child?

i will email you with my thoughts, they are too personal for this forum

  17. (((Zilla)))

I guess for the same reason it is okay for Sarah Palin to use her daughter to make a political point (she said she would not support her daughter's right to get an abortion even if she were raped) but when this daughter ends up pregnant after attending a school where abstinence only s*x ed is taught (which her mother supports), she is suddenly off limits.

It no longer suits their purpose.

  18. Because the anti-g*y movement would lose billions of dollars if they tried to remove the civil rights from fornicating teenagers, not allow them to join the military, prevent them from adopting as adults and fire them from jobs as adults.  They can only fatten themselves off the cash they get by promoting homophobia and scaring people into removing the civil rights from law-abiding, taxpaying, g*y Americans.

  19. In my opinion the breadth of separation of church and state should massively be increased.  Religious organizations should not be able to give money to a campaign if they are not paying taxes.

What we're seeing right now is a huge dose of hypocrisy, although it goes some distance to prove the point of - abstinence only education is an utter failure.
