  1. No religion is banned in Australia, we have many laws against anybody who villi fies anybody else for their race, religion etc in Australia.  I live in a suburb with people from all over the world, there is a Mosque, at least 5 different Church groups and an ex motor cycle gang member who distributes food the needy all within 3 kilometres.  Don't believe that rubbish you have read on the Internet.

  2. The only thing I can think of are some groups that are related to terrorist attacks kind of thing.

For example Al Qaeda I think is banned...

  3. We are all secular, which means Government does not get involved in religion and vice versa.

Most of us only ever go to a church for hatching, despatching or a matching (christening, funeral or marriage).

  4. Australia has no official or state religion. It is prohibited by our Constitution. Everyone is free to practise any religion they wish. However, statistics show that almost one-third of the country does not follow any religion. The most dominant religion is Christianity (64%) with the two largest denominations being Catholicism and Anglicanism.

  5. err..no, I think you've been fed rubbish off the internet..but Australians aren't very religious on the whole..

  6. Scientology has been banned in the past... i think Jedi is banned.  What religion did you read was banned?

  7. No, any religion is fine. We are pretty easy going about religion, at least the people I know are.

  8. Not true. As far as I know, any religion is allowed here.

Unless it's one of those creepy religions where they, you know, sleep with children, or carry out human sacrificies or whatever. What site was it?

  9. Uh, none that I am aware of. How about you shed some light, you said a 'certain religion' was mentioned, is that what they called it throughout the site you read this information on?

Jedi is not banned it just isn't recognised as a religion, I put it down as my religion on the census, so did 70,508 other people.

  10. There is religious freedom in Australia, but some cults do try to abuse this privelidge.

  11. Australia has complete religious freedom. No genuine religions are banned but there a a few that are not genuine that we allow and shouldn't.
