  1. Gday buddy, I posted a similar question here a little while back so hopefully now that I have purchased a LEE kit I can be of assistance.

If ur reloading centerfire cartridges over .223 u want a 4 hole turret but NOT the deluxe turret. U MUST buy the classic turret press (little more expensive) as it has a longer stroke. I got the deluxe and found that you have to disable the auto index (the shaft that turns the turret)on .243. This is because the index tries toi turn the turret before the case is clear and it jams the press.

So long story short you are after the following if u buy all LEE gear like me.

    Classic turret press

    Auto disk powder measure

    double disk kit

    scales

    zip trim

    case length tool

    chamfer tool

    a set of deluxe dies

the LEE site is helpful but not complete, hence my wrong purchase. I was lucky enough to have a really helpful dealer who took the old press back as it hadn't been used in anger yet.

If you have any questions email me at witty@y7mail.com and I will do what I can to help.

    Cheers. Witty.

  2. the firebolt is heaps better than all that u have just mentioned but its real expensive - a couple thousand galleons so save up and store ure cash at gringotts.

soz but rifles really aint my thing and im just a kid so im allowed to muck around.

  3. I use a Lee press, and am quite satisfied with it.  I use Hornady dies, I like the setup on them better than anything else I've found, particularly the aligning plug on the bullet seating die, and the Titanium Nitride pistol resizing dies.

  4. Lee makes good stuff but there are better made reloading equipment. That said about all I own is Lee and RCBS for reloading. Lee carbon dies I prefer over some other brands. I can turn out lots of rounds per hour with my Lee turret press and it cost less than other brands so I’m happy. The money I saved on equipment means more cash for components.

As far as Lee turret presses being stronger I can’t say. But it’s not hard to full length size 30-06 casing in them and I have tried other brands that you had to really apply some muscle to that lever!

There are others here with far more experience than I with other brands. I just found what worked for me and stuck with it.

NOTE; Yes you can use other dies on different presses. Like Lee will take RCBS and RCBS will take Lee dies.
