Question:

Relocate to Bisbane?

Hi everyone! My husband and I are living in Tasmania at the moment but thinking of relocating to Queensland. We lived in London for 10 years and moved here 2 months ago to have our baby. We really miss living in a bigger place, but we are worried about how expensive it would be. My husband is a carpet and vinyl layer since we came back, but worked within hospitality management for 10 years. Anyone knows anything about average pay on these jobs? And what about normal living expenses (rent, transport, etc) ?

Thanks for now, hope someone can help us! :)

  1. Well beware of the much much hotter weather up here and brizzy is becoming alot more expensive in housing im not sure about your jobs

  2. Brisbane is a great place, it is smaller than Sydney or Melbourne but alot bigger than Hobart.   It is becoming more expensive to live in Brisbane - cost of food, petrol etc.  We have lived in Brisbane and London.  Cost of living currently is very similar in both places except for rent. The cost of rent per month is much cheaper in Brisbane, about half.  One of the many advantages of Brisbane is that it has good access to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

As far as employment goes I don't know about wages in those fields but you could check for job ads in www.careerone.com.au and www.seek.com.au

Good luck I hope it all goes well.
