Relocating to singapore from ny...work visa without sponsor?

my boyfriend is being relocated from ny to singapore for 2 yrs. without a sponsor prior to moving there, is a work visa a total nightmare to obtain? I was unsure if its more difficult as my ºdependentº is my boyfriend and not spouse. thãnk you!

It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible for you to obtain your own work visa without an existing employer in Singapore.  And you are correct in that being a girlfriend gives you no status.  

Find an employer in Singapore, or get married to your boyfriend before he goes, or be prepared for a long distance relationship.
